Safeguards Corporation Berhad (“Safeguards”), the parent company of  SAFEGUARDS securIcor, was incorporated on 3 July 1973 and was listed on the Second Board of the Bursa Malaysia (formerly known as Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange) on 6 June 1997. Safeguards was elevated to the Main Board of the Bursa Malaysia on 29 March 2002.

Safeguards Group is principally engaged in the provision of cash and security services, information technology services, logistics and warehousing. The Group employs approximately 5,500 personnel.

SAFEGUARDS securIcor was formed when Safeguards Corporation Berhad (“Safeguards”) merged its cash and security division with Securicor (M) Sdn Bhd on 31 December 2002. In 2004, the Group completed the acquisition of a new subsidiary, Gwenkens Security Services Sdn Bhd, which provides premier guarding services to its clients such as Gurkha guards and guard dog units in addition to the current security services offered by the Group.

The Group has also recently, in the fourth quarter of 2005, announced the acquisition of G4 Falck Malaysia’s businesses, of which the transition was completed by the first quarter of 2006. Safeguards Securicor has a branch network of 42 branches throughout all states in Malaysia and has more than 500 custom-designed armored vehicles.
